I would like to share a place where you can rent formal dresses in Shenyang, China. Look at these dresses, they are so beautiful!

When you are overseas, there may be times that you have opportunities to attend fancy events and parties while wearing a nice dress. At first, I had mixed feelings towards attending this type of event because I am not used to it. But I went anyway to a dress rental shop in town with my friends who also will be attending the upcoming event.

There is no way that I could ask the staff if I could try on these wedding dresses just for fun, but I think they would say “Ok, sure! No problem!” because the staff there were so nice.

I chose to try on red dresses since the color red is known as a lucky color in China. I am going to show you what I wore at the dress shop for people who will be moving to Shenyang, and need formal dresses in the future.

We had so much fun trying on different types of dresses. I was hesitant at first, but I eventually liked trying out new things!

I loved the design of this dress. I wanted to try it on once so that I might get some good luck!

There are men’s suits in the back room.

I eventually picked this red dress It was 200 Yuen which is about $27. The staff at the dress shop told me that they can tailor and adjust the length of the dress without any additional cost.

They have men’s suits like the picture above. I was told by the staff that in China, it is normal to wear suits for a party rather than wearing a tuxedo in general. There are rental accessories in the price range of 15 yuen to 30 yuen, which is about $2 to $4.

They also have beautiful shoes for the dresses. Unfortunately, there weren’t any in my size, so I bought a pair of shoes at an underground shopping market.

These shoes were about $25. I will visit the rental dress shop again and bring my shoes too when I get my dress tailored.

I also would like to mention an online app called “Taobao”, which is widely used in mainland China. Literally, you can find anything you need on this app.

You can find dresses and high heels from Taobao, too. But it might take several days to be delivered, depending on where the product is shipped from. I liked visiting the dress rental shop so that I can check the size and how the dress looks like when I tried on.
