I’m not sure if this is a custom in western countries, but if your kids go to a local kindergarten or preschool in Japan and in China, most of the schools will ask you to bring your child’s own small mattress/futon set for nap time. The futon set usually comes with a pillow, blanket, and mattress (futon). I urgently had to find sets for my children, since my children needed to join a different local preschool for a few days due to our family’s schedule. So today’s blog post is about the nap set that I ordered from Taobao, which is a MUST HAVE app while you are in China!

The whole set fits inside this yellow bag.

The picture below shows the set, including a pillowcase, futon cover, mattress cover, and the actual cushion that all fit inside the yellow bag.

The size of the pillowcase was 30cm x 50cm(11.8inch x 19.6inch).

The size of the mattress cover was 70cmx140cm(27.55inchx55.11inchi).

The size of the futon cover was 120cmx150cm(47.24inchix59.05inchi).

These are the pillowcase and the inside pillow cushion.

When you order the futon set on Taobao, you can also choose the thickness of the cushion. The size shows on Taobao look like 1斤、2斤, 3斤.

I tried the 1斤 as it is good for the spring and summer seasons.

The futon cover has a fastener and you can separate the inside cushion and the cover.

The mattress doesn’t have a fastener, so you cannot take the cushion inside. If you’d like the fastener to apply to all of covers, you can check other products, too. 🙂

This is a screenshot of my order. I ordered 2 of the 3-piece futon sets. The total price for the 2 sets was about $45.

It is always hard to see on an app about the materials of the products and how the sizes look like. Especially, it feels harder to order on a new app when you are overseas. I hope my information will help someone who will need a futon set for their children’s school naps in the future! hehe
